Project Clean Stream was a great success thanks to the organizing and recruiting abilities of Doc Kuntz. Doc's final report brings the total for the day to 85 vollunteers & 167 fifty pound bags of trash, as well as bicycles, tires, a lawn mower, a shopping cart and a boat! All picked up from streams throughout Easton.
The Choptank Trib Team coordinated the group picking up trash along the stream bank from Rt 50 to Dover Road (the area behind the Taco Bell and Advanced Auto Parts). Our group of 8 gathered 20 bags of trash in just 3 hours.
Ten locations were targeted for clean up. Volunteers included groups from Boy Scout Adventure Crew 532,
Chesapeake Bay Girl Scouts, Saints Peter and Paul Fourth Grade, Boy
Scout Troop 532, Navy Junior ROTC from Easton H.S., Easton H.S. Ecology
Club, Cub Scout Pack 741 from St. Michaels, St. Michaels H.S. Ecology
Club, the Choptank Tributary Team, Koons of Easton, and the Unitarian
Universalist Fellowship.
